About the

Formed and hermetically sealed spherical end. The wall thickness is consistent throughout the dome, ideal for temperature probes and other instrumentation applications. Most cannula are requested in 304SS, but we also stock additional 300 series stainless, nickel, copper, and brass alloy tubing.

Cannula side ports typically allow for the transfer of liquid or gas. Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) can form simple holes and slots to complex shapes, unique patterns and geometries.

Manufactured by swaging the tube, hand sharpening the point if necessary. Pencil points puncture without coring.

Vita Needle can offer a variety of finishing options, including plating, passivation to reduce surface contamination, electropolishing for an improved finish, laser marking, and grit blasting, often for a rough surface used for plastic over molding, among others.

Vita Needle stocks a wide variety of luer lock, NPT, barb and thread fittings, and can custom manufacture fittings. Most stock fittings are offered in brass, which is more easily machined than stainless, with nickel plating. Nickel plating has replaced less environmentally friendly chrome plating as the standard for the medical industry.

Vita Needle can engineer and build tooling to create bent tubes, within gauge and radius limitations.

Include laser welding and brazing. Soldering and brazing utilize filler material to join custom fabricated parts, while welding fuses parent materials by using heat and sometimes pressure.

Typically functions as a transition, guide or stopper. As a general rule, a flare diameter of approximately 20% of the OD is the maximum that can be achieved, but wall thickness and other factors can be additionally prohibitive.
